Thesis Topic Statement:
Most Asian Americans struggle in developing their own identity due to cultural dynamics. The goal is to create a digital community where Asian American’s can learn about their culture through peers, shared experiences and receive help cultivating their own identity.
This week I worked on finalizing my my visual system. I finalized the Asian symbol so it would be much bolder. I played around with colors, elements, patterns and fonts. I will continue to create other patterns from the different Asian cultures. I chose a pastel color palette to create a calm and welcoming effect for my target audience. I changed the yellow to a vibrant green and replaced it as the other primary color. For the secondary colors I added accent colors to use throughout my visual system to create visual hierarchy. I edited the elements and patterns and will continue as my visual system moves forward. I refined my user journey map and user flow. I started applying the color palette and elements to each.
Over the weekend, I met with a friend who's a writer. We discussed what copy is needed for each deliverable and created deadlines for the social media ads & videos, the poster series, video frames, promotional materials and the app.
